In computer graphics, rendering is the process of producing a digital image / raster graphics image from more abstract image information, such as vector graphics or 3D computer graphics information (typically consisting of geometry, viewpoint, texture and lighting information).

Rendering is the final process of creating the actual 3D image from the prepared Object layout. This can be compared to taking a photo of a scene after the setup is finished in real life.

When the Object layout is given, rendering is used to add textures in relative position to other objects. The result is a completed image the consumer or intended viewer sees.
